Make sure you’ve got plenty of warm clothes! Bring some snacks and drinks and make a party out of it, even. Check out these places to go sledding: 

Climb Scaly Mountain and Grab a Snow Tube! 

Grab a tube, ride the Magic Carpet lift to the top, then hop on your tube and laugh or scream all the way down! If you have never been tubing, it is a must-try activity. The tradition began in the Alps and the Highlands Outpost rendition is an experience all its own. Come enjoy this wild and crazy ride for yourself! 

Get Tubed at Beech Mountain Resort 

Ok, it’s a bit of a drive. That said, this is a full-fledged ski resort that has something for everyone. Send the kids tubing while mom and dad hit the slopes (or the lodge for some adult beverages).  

Hit the Frozen Falls Tube Park at Ski Sapphire Valley 

The entire family will enjoy this 500-foot run with a vertical drop of 60 feet! Attendants and an easy ‘moving sidewalk’ get you and your tube to the top and off you go. 

Tubing sessions are for 1.75 hours and they do sell out. As they are on a first come, first served basis, arrive early to reserve a session.
