What is the 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500HD’s towing capacity?

For 2020, the Silverado 2500HD is available with a new Duramax 6.6-liter V-8 Turbo-Diesel engine paired with an all-new Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. It’s this setup that gives the Silverado 2500HD a maximum towing capability of 35,000 pounds. In addition to the increased towing power, the Silverado 2500HD also has new, larger and more robust front and rear axles, a new 28-inch diameter fan to keep the engine cool and 30-percent larger-diameter prop shafts for greater strength and torque output.

According to Chevrolet, over 90 percent of heavy-duty truck owners use their trucks for trailering. In order to better tackle trailering needs, Chevrolet has also made a variety of additional technologies and hardware available. These include:

• An enhanced integrated trailer brake controller
