I will not be buying from Carl Black again.
I will not be buying from Carl Black again. I called around to multiple dealerships to ask if they had a "mandatory" dealer additional cost over MSRP, Carl Black told me no they didn't. On Jan 4 2022 I went into the dealership to place an order for a Chevrolet Suburban Z71 with the 6.2 V8. I had met with theor top salesman, Alex. I again asked if there was a mandatory dealer add over MSRP, was told no once again. We shook hands and placed the order for the vehicle. (After I left, I communicated I wanted a sunroof, we had to order a 2nd because the first didn't have a sunroof, this is relative to a later issue) 2 months later, the vehicle arrives, we go to do all the paperwork and there is the mandatory fee of $3xxx. Alex tells me we will work it off when we trade this Suburban in on the next one with the sunroof (this was at the height of used vehicle prices, they would mark it up and sell at a high price very quickly. The sunroof would still be $1500 or maybe free depending on the trade value at the time). I kept asking about the replacement Suburban, month after month they said any day. Finally was told it was "cancelled" by Chevrolet and we could try to reorder for the next year's model. The vehicle base price had increased $1500 and the used market calmed down, I would end up losing on it in the end. I elected to keep the Suburban, it just got a new engine at 28,400 miles. I should have waited and found a dealer anywhere else to get it at MSRP rather than pay the premium to a dealer 45 mins away from my house.

The service department has a lot to be desired where it takes forever to do an oil change 2 hours just to do an oil change 1st thing in the morning and then check a car and do a oil change it is a 5 hour wait

My wife and I came to Carl Black to purchase our first new vehicle after a recommendation from my father. He purchased a new truck from there when I was my sons age. Randy Erwin exemplified every attribute I hoped to encounter in this process. He listened to our needs and found us what we wanted. Sapphire Givihan was our point of contact for the financial side and even though we were the customer that stayed late she helped us to get the numbers we wanted after the vehicle was picked out. Overall Randy and Sapphire were a absolute pleasure to work with.

This is the second time we bought a car from Chevrolet and the second time with this seller, this man did not give me confidence the first time and this second time I wanted to give him the opportunity because my husband know him , but he cheated again, he is only here to sell and make money and not to help the client and meet their expectations. I was excited to purchase my new vehicle here, but the experience after the sale has been one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I’ve ever had. The night I purchased my vehicle, it was already around 10:00 p.m. My dash cam was hardwired into my trade-in, and removing it wasn’t something that could be done in a few minutes. My son was going to help remove it, and I was told I could come back the next day while my new vehicle was being detailed. The next day, I even received the dealership’s customer satisfaction survey call. I told the representative I was coming back to clean out my trade-in and have my new car detailed, and that I’d discuss the survey in person. When I arrived, my trade-in had already been sent away. The staff told me they would retrieve my dash cam from the wholesale lot. I left without worrying because they assured me they would get it back to me. I even have text messages from my salesperson stating: “It’s been sent to our wholesale lot so I will call them and see if they can take it out.” Fast forward more than a month, and instead of returning my property, I was offered a cheap generic dash cam from Temu as a replacement for my Anker Roav dash cam that I purchased myself. Then, to make matters worse, my salesperson later claimed he never told me I could come back for my belongings. Throughout this entire ordeal, I waited for return calls from Mr. Zimmerman and Mr. Whitaker. Neither ever called me back despite multiple promises. There were also issues with the “detail” on my new vehicle that were never resolved. The vehicle wasn’t properly cleaned, there was a handprint left on the dashboard, and there was a scratch near the shifter that I reported immediately. Those concerns were also ignored. Mistakes happen. Losing a customer’s property is unfortunate but fixable. Ignoring the customer, changing the story, failing to return calls, and offering an inferior replacement instead of making things right is what earned this review. If you buy a vehicle here, remove every single personal item before handing over your keys, because if something goes missing, don’t expect anyone to take ownership of the problem.
