What engine options are available on the 2020 Chevy Silverado Heavy Duty?
The new 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD Power Specs are powered by two improved engine options; the All-New 6.6L V-8 gas engine, and of course the 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8. The new 6.6L V-8 gas motor (which will replace the Vortec 6.0L V8 from 2019) comes with an upgraded 6-speed automatic transmission. The direct injection motor makes up to 401 horsepower and 464 lb.-ft. of torque with it’s very durable cast-iron engine block. The new Duramax Diesel motor in the 2020 Silverado HD pushes out 445 horsepower and 910 lb.-ft. of torque. The powerhouse also has a industry first, integrated, Power Take Off system available on the L5P Duramax coming later this year (2020). According to GMAuthority, “Power Take-Off (PTO) is a device that transfers an engine’s mechanical power to the vehicle’s auxiliary components, most commonly a hydraulic pump. The feature is designed for customers who need to power other equipment with their trucks, mostly on the job site.”
